Or maybe this post should be titled:
How to loose 30 pounds in 3 hours!
How a hair cut can make you look younger!
Miss Ceilidh is the easiest going dog you will ever meet. She will follow you anywhere and let you do pretty much anything to her (yes there are Hallowe'en costume and Christmas morning pajama pics somewhere!) but grooming is not one of them. She has had a few major surgeries, both her back knees, two on her teeth, she is now deaf and the vet thinks she may have had a small stroke but we think she has some elbow dysplasia in her front legs. All of this has made it difficult to groom her properly. This summer she has been so uncomfortable in the heat, panting all the time, even waking me up in the middle of the night. So we decided to start fresh.
We asked Poppy's groomer, Barb at SuperDog Central in Bowmanville, if she would take on our girl even though she has some fear aggression towards other full-sized dogs. We dropped her off and then sat around the house watching the clock, waiting for the phone call to come and get her that they wouldn't be able to finish the job. What would we do with a half shaved dog? But thankfully all went well! When Barb brought her out we didn't even recognize her -- so tiny, so cute, such a puppy!
Aussie's are known for their grins but I think this is a huge smile.
Can't stay outside in the sun too long!
It's taken awhile to get used to but she is truly enjoying the constant back and belly rubs that we don't think she could really feel before underneath all that fur. The excessive panting is gone and except for not being able to be out in the sun for too long she is loving it! and so are we! Oh Poppy want to go for a ride?!?
